Defect Classification Definition
Critical A condition that poses a direct risk of injury, harm, or danger to the life or safety of the end user or people nearby.
Major A defect that negatively affects the product’s marketability, saleability, form, fit, or function. It is likely to cause the end user to return the product for a replacement or refund.
Minor A condition that is undesirable but does not negatively affect the product’s marketability, saleability, form, fit, or function, and is unlikely to cause a return.
